I Think I Will

As a person who loves a fresh start I've taken the past few days to 'get ready' for 2013. It's an 'even' year as my oldest turns 14 and graduates to high school, the next turns 12 and enters junior high and the youngest turns 10. I resolve to accomplish a number of things but one to be said aloud is to blog daily-keep it current. Here's to you and yours as this year draws to a close. Make the most of the next one coming!

I Love to Cook

Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup or brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality..

Take a large bowl,
Check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality,
Pour one level cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter
In a large fluffy bowl.

Add one peastoon of sugar. Beat again.

At this point
it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still ok, try another Cup just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy.

Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Pick the frigging fruit off the floor.

Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaters just pry
It loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who geeves a sheet.

Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add one table.

Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall
Over.

Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the
Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the wishdasher.

What To Do

Made a new 'To Do' form yesterday. Since becoming the CinC of the Home I've made an almost daily To Do List. I divy up the household duties- designating some to each day. In addition I add the tasks that pop up sporadically to my list. I said 'almost daily' as most weekends were and are unstructured with the exception of athletic activities. My first creation was simple and to the point.

My new one is a bit more involved.

Yum Yum

I made these today.

The entire process came from ideas garnered off one of my favorite websites. It's not hard to guess.
Melt almond bark. Dip Oreos (I used double stuff), place on wax paper and sprinkle on peppermint (I pulverized candy canes in my food processor). Something new I learned - melt almond bark using a slow cooker. Easier to check out the direct website. New- I melted the almond bark in a rectangular glass dish and left in the slow cooker while I dipped the cookies.

The Four Gift Rule

This year I'm in line with this and then some. So simple. In the recent past I've been attempting to cut back on the number, trying to make each gift more meaningful. In addition to a traditional Hallmark ornament I now have a guideline to bring the number to a specific one.

Moving Soon

Although there are no plans to change addresses the idea of being able to is always in the back of my mind. One game stopper is the house. Work on the abode has been done, updates accomplished but it is not currently ready to sell. Through Pinterest I found this spring cleaning plan that involved cleaning the house and repairing it to the point of being 'sale' ready. I'll need Spring, Summer, Fall, and then probably some more. I printed off a numbered list for each room of the house, put them in a binder and made a cover page. I'm taking the remainder of the year to fill it in. My goal is to be cleaned up, organized and finished by 11/12/13. Then we'll see.
