Seriously!

It is time.  Roughly fourteen months have ensued since the passing of my mom and four months since I last posted and that was a pitiful attempt as it was.  I’m still attempting to overcome the same vices and problems that I had in the beginning.  I hurt my foot in February and seemingly ate my way through February and March while battling depression.  I cannot call it full blown depression as I did not go to the doctor for a diagnosis and medicine but at the age of 44 I know myself well enough to know that I go through the ‘lack of sunshine and warm weather’ season watching television and eating-without a thought to the changes in my body-specifically my weight.  I wore jeans in January, sweatpants in February and by the end of March neither apparel were fitting well.  During April I wore shorts and by the first of May my feet told me I had gained too much weight.  How sad is that?  Off to Weight Watchers I go- again!

Next to come…Secret Attendance.

Oh So Easy

It's that time of year again.  Yep- hard boiled eggs and chocolate bunnies.  Except this year it's hard boiled 'baked' eggs.  Pinterest at work again.  I have baked eggs, out of the shell to the point of acceptance but not inside the shell-until now.  I used a regular muffin pan-twelve eggs at a time- which let the eggs move a bit.  The pan shown here, I think, is a mini muffin pan-which probably works just as well, And can bake more eggs at one time.  Thirty minutes at 325 degrees. Put in ice water until cool (I initially transferred to a bowl of ice water but thought next time to put entire pan into sink and fill with water and ice.) Time to color.

The Me Project

Hello Spring!  A rejuvenation.  Although the season officially arrived a few days past, Mother Nature has now decided to catch up to the calendar.  While patches of snow still exist, the temperatures are climbing higher, every so slowly higher on the gauge.  Most inhabitants of central Illinois have departed to areas consisting of yet higher temperatures and minute silica.
After accomplishing a few projects for others the decision has been made to take on a new project-Me.  This profound idea also came about after getting a clean bill of health from the general practioner and  the cancer doctor.  My appointments with the latter have been moved from six months to twelve months-as I will not see him again until next March.  And let me define 'clean bill of health'.  My lab work (blood tests) from both visits resulted in numbers within the normal ranges.  One non-blood work number that is not within a healthy range remains to plague me.  You know you are overweight when your feet actually hurt because there is too much pressure on them- and as I have midget digits my poor pups are barking.  Seriously.  The problem?  I have no 'off' switch.  Eating, drinking, talking... For the next year I'm creating an off switch -and learning how to use it will be a learning experience.  Along with this new project I will also attempt to cross off another item off the bucket list.  I'll share it if and when I do- until then... I'll keep my dialogue going here!

Lessons Learned

Love this!

I jacked today's title from the picture itself.  This caught my attention, first for the scenery and then the quote.  Truly, the people, places and memories are individual and belong totally to you.  This past year I have reminiscenced a few times over the passing of relatives.  I found that my memories of an event are not the same as another's and belong just to me.

Supernatural

Impala!

Over the last two weeks I've watched a 149 episodes of Supernatural.  Don't ask why.  I probably couldn't give a reason other than once I started with the Pilot I felt compelled to reach the end of Season 7.  Season 8 is currently on the CW.  I know- nice car hu?

Abs

Yesterday I spoke of goals and changes.  While  I've already established the big picture I'm dividing the year into two week snap shots.  The first- a stronger core.  Look better, smaller waist (new jeans!) and better control over the rest of the body!  I'll comment again in a few (13) days on how this goes.

Happy New Year

Photo

The First Day!  I chose this greeting because the red caught my eye.  Reminds me that Christmas was just a few days ago and the snowman because I decorate the house with them during the months of January and February.  I started this a few years ago after taking down the Christmas decorations and feeling 'bereft'.  The house looked empty.  And to find out I'm not the only one- others do the same.  Happy New Year.  If you made resolutions- good luck on making the changes.  I have made them- but call them 'Goals and Changes'- and will talk about them in the near future as I make the effort to instill them into my life.
